In order to receive UKEEP financing, your company and project must be eligible for UKEEP financing.

Eligible projects comprise any investments that decrease energy consumption or increase own energy production from renewable energy resources, and that are financially viable. See our section on typical energy efficiency investments.

Eligible companies comprise private sector companies which are creditworthy and commercially viable.

The typical loan size under UKEEP is between 2-5 million EUR. These are not exact limits, but much larger projects will need to complement the UKEEP facility with other forms of financing. Smaller projects may be eligible, but in general the administrative work performed by the participating banks for each loan application requires the project loans to have a certain size.

If you have any questions before applying for UKEEP financing, you are always welcome to visit our Frequently Asked Questions section, or contact the UKEEP Hotline (tel. 044 205 32 02, e-mail: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ), which will provide answers to your questions within 24 hours.

The application process is generally as follows:application

1. Download and fill in the application form, available on this website.

2. The UKEEP Experts will assess your project in maximum 5 working days and determine whether the project is eligible for UKEEP financing.

3a. If you already are a customer of one of the participating banks, the bank will quickly indicate whether it can lend money for the project.

3b. If you are not a customer of one of the participating banks, the banks will contact you for information about your company to perform a credit analysis. After the credit analysis (which may take about two weeks) the banks will indicate whether they can lend money for the project.

4. If the banks are willing to lend money to the project, the UKEEP experts will make a detailed assessment and documentation of the project.

(5). If more information is required or if more investment opportunities are identified, UKEEP experts will visit the company's premises to obtain the information, and/or perform an energy audit. The energy audit will take about one week and give a detailed report on the energy savings that are achievable.

6. The bank makes the final lending decision and the loan is signed.
