Presentations and pictures from the UKEEP conference in Zaporozhe are now available online!
The UKEEP conference in Zaporozhe, held on February 18th 2010, gathered more than 100 participants from companies in the region interested in energy efficiency and renewable energy issues. In addition, several TV channels and media were present to report from the event.
The conference was opened by Mr. Berezhniy A.P., 1st vice-president governor of Zaporozhe oblast, who stressed the importance of implementing energy efficient technologies at companies in the Zaporozhe region, which is an industrial region and thus a large consumer of energy. Companies and municipal entities in the region have already made good progress in decreasing specific energy consumption, but a lot remains to be done and Mr. Berezhniy welcomed UKEEP as an important initiative for delivering concrete results in the private sector. In addition, Mr Berezhniy called for an increased use of renewable energy sources, for example biomass and biogas from the agricultural sector.
Many such projects that UKEEP has helped realize were presented by the UKEEP team during the conference and the participants received advice on best practices and typical savings that can be achieved at Ukrainian companies. Directly following the conference, a number of good project ideas were discussed between participants and UKEEP experts in one-to-one meetings. The half-day conference was concluded with a lunch buffet, giving the participants a chance for more informal networking.
Media news clips will be uploaded to the UKEEP website shortly. Meanwhile, the presentations from the seminar are available for download below.
